This week Paul closes his first letter to the Corinthian Christians with a continuation of the final thought in 15:58:
"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your work in the Lord is not in vain."
One key word that stands out is "give." We are to give of ourselves and understand that no good deed is ever useless in our work for the Lord.
Paul will also give practical applications that have value for all Christians. We will look at giving to those who suffer, being on guard for spiritual dangers, standing firm in our faith, behaving courageously, and doing everything with kindness and love.
Today as we wait for the return of Christ, it is wise to follow these same instructions. — Pastor Don
