As we know, in the first 14 chapters of 1 Corinthians, Paul addressed the Corinthian church on issues of behavior and personal relationships. These issues include his apostolic authority, divisions in the church, sexual immorality, marriage, lawsuits, eating food offered to idols, abuses of the Lord’s Supper, spiritual gifts, and how love should be the motive for exercising gifts.
In chapter 15, Paul shifts gears from correcting behavior issues and interpersonal relationships within the church to reminding the Corinthian Christians of the foundational doctrine of their belief to which they should hold firmly—the Gospel. In this passage, we will see what the Gospel is, why it is the foundation of our faith, why it is the foundation of our lives, and why we should hold firmly to it. — John
