The Source of Spiritual Gifts

This week we will be reminded of the true source of Spirit-ual gifts. Paul will be using a partial list of special abilities that are to be used to minister to the needs in the body of believers, which glorify God by the power of the Holy Spirit.

This chapter is not an exhaustive list, as we know there are many gifts, people have different gifts, some have more than one gift, and one gift is not superior to another. All spiritual gifts come from the Holy Spirit, our helper, and their purpose is to build up Christ's body, the Church.

Paul will also lay down a broad principle for discerning matters concerning spiritual gifts that depends on judging things on how they relate to Jesus Christ. Does a supposed gift glorify Jesus and does it promote the true Jesus or a false one? — Pastor Don
