What We Should Wear

This week we begin Chapter 3 with a reminder from Paul that describes who we are as believers:

Since, then, you, have been raised with Christ...

With that comes a character of heart and mind that proclaims to everyone around us our renewed knowledge in the image of our Creator. Setting our hearts on things above means striving to put heaven's priorities into daily action. Setting our minds on things above means concentrating on the eternal rather than the temporary.

Paul expresses to this church and all churches that we must "put off" the old self and to "put on" the new. This usually is not as easy as just changing clothes; it takes time, commitment and the power of the Holy Spirit, especially in the challenging seasons of life.

One thought we might consider is how worldliness is a bad fit for believers. May we all allow Jesus to rule in our hearts and minds and live each day for Him. — Pastor Don
