'One Another' Commands

October 29, 2023 Speaker: Don Ringman Series: Stand Alone Sermons

Passage: John 13:31–35

Last Sunday John shared about Genesis 1:27: "God created man in His own image."

This does not mean God is in human form, but rather that humans are in the image of God in their moral, spiritual, and intellectual nature. We, as His creation, have the conscious recognition that differs from any other creature.

Imago Dei (Image of God) refers to God's own self-actualization through mankind, and God's care for mankind.

This week, in our standalone sermon series, we will take a look at Jesus' teaching about a new covenant, found in John 13. Having love for one another is key to revealing one important purpose in our creation. The ability and desire to love one's self, others and therefore God is often neglected and even opposed, but in Jesus, we see the character of God in human form.

What a God we have that would love us so much He would become flesh and show himself to His creation. — Pastor Don
