This week we grasp the picture of Jesus' crucifixion. As we read John's perspective, it is also suggested to read the other three accounts in Matthew 27, Mark 15 and Luke 23. Each writer adds meaningful details with the same message: Jesus died on the cross, in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, so that we could be saved from our sins and given eternal life.
We know the religious leaders are behind this premeditated execution of Jesus, and we know that Pilate stood face to face with God as he struggled, compromised and caved to the hatred in these religious men. We also stand firm in the belief of 'Man meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.'
Let us not deny Christ, as the religious leaders did, when the chief priests proclaimed in verse 15, 'We have no King but Caesar!' — Blessings, Pastor Don
