As we continue our series on the parables of Jesus, we are looking at the parables with the theme of the “kingdom of heaven” in Matthew 13. This week, we will look at the Parable of Leaven (or yeast). When a little bit of yeast is put into a batch of dough for making bread, it expands, and permeates the dough, causing a significant transformation. This week, we will look at what we can learn from the parable, how the gospel affects us personally, and how it affects the world.
