Last week we began a series that follows the theme of “Simply Jesus,” focusing on parables, the primary method Jesus used to teach. As a refresher, “parable” comes from a Greek word that means “comparison.” They are simple stories that place the known next to an unknown, which Jesus uses to illustrate moral or spiritual lessons.
Last week, we saw that the general theme in Christ’s parables is the kingdom of heaven. This is a good reason to look at what the kingdom of heaven is and its requirement to enter. So, that’s what we are going to do this Sunday morning.
