Hypocrisy and Authenticity

As we continue our series “Simply Jesus,” this week we look at what Jesus had to say about hypocrisy and authenticity. Let’s be forewarned that Jesus was not gentle when he confronted the teachers of the law and the Pharisees about hypocrisy. I think it is fair to say that Jesus reserved his most scathing remarks for hypocrisy. So, as we examine what Jesus had to say, we must examine ourselves for any hint of hypocrisy. As followers of Christ, we must rid ourselves of it. We want to be humble and authentic. We want to live our lives being consistent with what we believe.
