Many times in our Christian walk, we encounter situations that somehow don't make sense. Effective communication is difficult even when clearly stated or written. Words can be misinterpreted and misunderstood, especially when filtered through the sieve of prejudices and preconceptions. "But I thought he said... I'm sure he meant... It's clear to me that we should... I disagree, I think we should..." Nothing new under the sun, and Paul faced this problem with the Thessalonian church by responding with a second letter to clear up the confusion concerning the details and timing of Christ's return. As in Paul's first letter, he will continue to help them grow in their faith, comforting and encouraging them by affirming the reality of Christ's return and answering questions from a letter Paul received from the church. These next three chapters in our series are filled with Hope, Clarity and Light as we live in light of Christ's return.
