Paul closed the first half of chapter 5 with these encouraging words: "He [Jesus] died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
This week as we continue in our series "Practical Advice for Christian Living," Paul brings to the table something that seems to be missing in many areas of ministry and the world we live in: Encouragement. In his final instructions, we will examine the checklist for encouragers, that support the peace that passes all understanding.
Paul also speaks to grieving the Holy Spirit, which is putting out the fire of the Holy Spirit or ignoring and tossing aside the gifts He provides. Paul emphasizes we should realize that God wishes to be involved in every aspect of our lives, not just the religious parts or only one day a week.
In these last verses of Chapter 5, we find the golden nuggets of life, all tied together by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
