This Sunday, as we continue our series "Practical Advice for Christian Living," in Chapter 2 we will look at Paul's words and example that encouraged the Thessalonians to live in such a way that would glorify God. There have been questions over time that seem to ask, "What would embarrass God?" One answer might be in a Socratic method, to answer with another question, like, "What do people think of God from watching you?" and lately maybe even, "Who really cares anyway?" We will see how morality, devotion and hostility continue to exist in our world today, just as it did in Paul's day. Knowing that God has called us for His purpose, we hold to the truth of Philippians 1:6: "He who has begun a good work in you will complete it." Christians should have the same goals that Paul had, of having divine approval and the reward at the judgment seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:9-10). What a day that will be.
