On Sunday, we will focus on giving thanks in all circumstances as stated by Paul: “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:8). Yes, Paul said “in ALL” circumstances. There are no exceptions.
When life is good, and we get what we want, being thankful is easy. However, when there are hardships or when things go awry, we alienate ourselves from being thankful. Nevertheless, giving thanks is God’s most repeated command in the Bible. Why? Because thankfulness is the prescription for spiritual health. Nothing turns us into bitter, selfish, dissatisfied people more quickly than an ungrateful heart. And nothing will do more to restore contentment and the joy of our salvation than a true spirit of thankfulness.
