1 Peter 3:15 tells that we revere Christ as Lord and that we should be prepared to give the reason for the hope we have to anyone who asks. In that vein, I began to prepare a short series that deals with truth, evidence, or reasonable explanations for our faith.
In Ephesians 6:10-17, Paul wrote about putting on the armor of God so that we may be able to stand our ground. Interestingly, the first piece of armor that we are to put on is the belt of truth. Truth is at the foundation of our faith, and truth is what gives us purpose and meaning in our lives.
As I was preparing for this Sunday, I realized that the truths and the evidence that give us reasonable explanations for our faith is secondary. These truths may certainly strengthen our faith; but if we are really seeking truth, we are seeking God himself. A life of seeking truth is a life that is Christ-centered. Hence, I will be delving into what a Christ-centered life might look like.
