The Supremacy of Christ

This week we continue in Colossians with what is considered one of the strongest statements about the Divine nature of Christ found anywhere in the Bible. With Jesus being the visible image of the invisible God, we are presented with an agape love from our heavenly Father that surpasses all understanding.

God's people cried out for God to show himself, and He did. Jesus not only reflects God, but reveals God to us because He is God.

As Paul addresses the heresy creeping into the church, he refutes the Greek mythologies and ideas that said it was impossible to be divine and human at the same time. These false teachers also believed that spiritual perfection was a secret and hidden plan that only a few privileged people could discover.
