Again Paul is saying goodbye to fellow workers of the Gospel, as he prepares to return to Jerusalem.
Paul is commissioning these leaders, whom he refers to as pastors, elders and overseers, to care for Christ's sheep. As such, these leaders are the shepherds called to tend, feed, and protect the flock from external and internal attacks from what Paul describes as savage wolves.
Through this heartfelt farewell to this all-Christian gathering, Paul again sets an example of living a life that always included Jesus no matter what he faced. Many often feel that their life is a failure because they're not getting enough out of it. We see that for Paul, putting more into life was more important than what he got out of it. His main goal was sharing Jesus with others, and it's easy to see why he is considered by many to be the greatest missionary who ever lived, giving all praise and glory to God. — Blessings, Pastor Don
