Last week we spent time with Saul of Tarsus as he "at once" began to proclaim Jesus as the Son of God. Saul's arguments and preaching were powerful because he was a brilliant scholar and communicator — but what was more convincing was his changed life. Our words also should be backed up with a changed life.
God has a purpose for every life, which leads to a real adventure for those willing to cooperate. This week, we read of Peter traveling the country, healing a man named Aeneas, raising a woman named Tabitha, being summoned by Cornelius, living with a tanner named Simon and, of course, Peter's vision of a great sheet containing certain foods, which had purpose in opening the gospel further — to the Gentiles. Peter was willing to re-examine his traditions and prejudices in light of God's Word and share God's heart with a lost world. — Blessings, Pastor Don
