One thing we all have in common is change.
Change can be difficult, and for many it seems impossible. One old saying that might help in difficult times of change is 'Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not get bent out of shape.'
This unknown beatitude was shared with me from a wise children's Sunday school teacher. The truth is: As we go through seasons of life, change is unavoidable. This was true with the Apostles after Jesus' death, resurrection and ascension. They are different men, in a different world. They have the same names, same faces, same mannerisms, but we will see it in their eyes, hear it in their voices, and feel it in their passions as we read through Acts.
Acts begins where the Gospels leave off and is the recorded actions of the Apostles and the work of the Holy Spirit. The Gospel was continuously preached through ordinary people with human frailties and limitations, empowered by the Holy Spirit, taking the good news all over the world. As we read of their adventures, listen and be encouraged. What God did for them, He longs to do for you. Blessings — Pastor Don
