JOHN | The Good Shepherd

This week we are in John 10:1-21 and we're talking about The Good Shepherd — so let's pretend that you're a sheep.

You're a sheep in the ancient Near East, in the wilderness, surrounded by wolves and bears and lions and thieves and robbers, and the only chance you have is to find the one true shepherd that will stay with you and protect you. As difficult as that might seem, it's even more difficult when you realize that there are many false shepherds — who ultimately are thieves and robbers who when the wolves start howling are going to flee ... and you are in trouble.

Actually, this isn't really pretend. This everyone's story — and what we want to talk about in today's sermon. — Ed
