JOHN | Truth and Lies

This week, we continue the series in John and will be listening to Jesus as he speaks about God's true children and His being eternal. The Jewish leaders were presenting their case for what some see as the "Automatic-In Syndrome." Jesus simply responds to their being free in terms of critical thinking and reminding them who is in control. Paraphrased, it's "You were righteous in the Old, but the New has come ... as promised." The leaders had a problem with Jesus' words and responded with "What? NO WAY!"

It seems that when people deal with change there can be resistance, and some even come out fighting, especially when our comfortable life system is challenged or we are perfectly happy with our own independence. Jesus answers this resistance with God's truth ... John 8:58: " I tell you the truth, before Abraham was born, I am!" — Pastor Don
