The Final Testimony of John the Baptist — John 3:22-36
This week we are closing John chapter 3 with John the Baptist, Jesus and His disciples on the move. Jesus and His disciples come to a place with many springs and continue baptizing, the baptism of repentance. With two groups baptizing, a "discussion" arose, and John the Baptist clears the air. His answer and testimony are direct.
"I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him. ... Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. He must increase, but I must decrease."
As we continue through John, remember our theme verse of John 20:31: "But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."
