John, the Gospel writer, has told us that the eternal Son of God, the Creator of the universe, at a point in time actually took on human flesh and walked on this earth. John the Baptist publicly announced Him as the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. Jesus has now gathered disciples, and John will reveal what he calls a sign, the first evidence to validate his claim that Jesus was actually God in the flesh. And in so doing, we get a glimpse of what He came to do for us.
John relates the first great sign performed by Jesus to demonstrate His deity, the turning of water into wine. Only God can create from nothing. John identifies 8 miracles in his gospel that constitute 'signs' or confirmation of who Jesus is. Each of the 8 miracles were different; no two were alike
