COLOSSIANS | Grounded in the Greatness of Jesus

New year, new series, same Jesus.

This week we begin Colossians with an introduction and brief overview of Paul's prison letter that addresses false teachers and expresses the supreme authority of Christ. This outpouring of Paul to a church he has basically never met, begins with "What Christ has done".

Paul brings to attention that Christ is God, Christ is the head of the Church, as believers we have union in Christ, and nothing can replace Jesus, especially man made religion.

Our hearts should rejoice that Jesus paid the price for sin, reconciling us to God and Jesus gives us the pattern and the power to Grow spiritually. Jesus is the exact likeness of God and when we learn what he is like, we see what we strive to become.

Heresy has always been a thorn in the flesh of the Church and has infiltrated its ranks many times and has always been confronted by the only solution, which is, The Sufficiency of Christ.  

Colossians 2:9-10 — ⁹ For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, ¹⁰ and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.
