A Letter from the Elders
February, 2022
Dear Folks of Port Gardner Community Church,
Looking back over 2021, we have seen God’s faithfulness and unfailing love shining like a beacon. 2021 was a tough year for all of us. The leadership changes, the continuing pandemic, working with civil authorities, changes in attendance, family crises, relationship crises, work challenges, uncertainty for the future — the list seems to go on and on. And in all this, God is unfailingly faithful.
Through your generous gifts we’ve been able to continue our support of Everett Gospel Mission, Nueva Esperanza, Ian Rojas at Mission Aviation Fellowship and the Food Program at North Middle School. We were able to distribute food baskets at Thanksgiving. Our paid staff is currently Don — as our teaching pastor, Mike — as our musician, and Raye — as our admin/bookkeeper. We’ve been able to keep critical services as well. So, thank you for your faithfulness in giving.
Looking Forward: We’ve ended the discussion of merging with City On A Hill Calvary Chapel. Don, Tim and Ed will continue to share in the preaching duties as we move from John into a study of Acts — A Young Church in Action, Guided by The Holy Spirit. We will continue to connect through our Community Groups and in the local community, as well as with other churches in the area. We will continue to be faithful in declaring God’s Word.
And … Our theme for 2022 is Where are you Reading?
We ask you to continue to pray for one another, look for ways to show love for each other, find ways to share the light of God’s message in your own world of work and play. We pray for you and love you. Let us know what we can do for you. And keep reading God’s Word!
We wish the best 2022 for you as you live out Micah 6:8: Do what’s right, love mercy and walk humbly with your God.
Because of Jesus!
— Don, Tim and Ed
