A Season of Advent
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are grateful to everyone who teamed up to help bring Thanksgiving feasts to several of our North Everett neighbors. What a great way to enter Advent season, which kicked off this past weekend and will continue through our Christmas Day service on Sunday December 25.
Our theme passage for Advent will be Isaiah 9:6-7:
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.
There will be no service on January 1; we'll rejoin for a New Year — and new series — on January 8. We hope you will join us this holiday season as we celebrate Advent and the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
